What is the difference between Starwood Privilege and Starwood Preferred Guest?
   

Starwood Privilege and Starwood Preferred Guest are different membership programmes offering different benefits.

As a Starwood Privilege member, you can receive your dining and accommodation benefits, AND receive Starpoints for the undiscounted portion of every meal or stay.

How will I be recognized as a Starwood Privilege member?
Answer :

You will be recognized as a member when you present your personally embossed Starwood Privilege membership card with your signature on the reverse side.

Is the Starwood Privilege card a credit card or charge card?
Answer :

The membership card is neither a credit card nor a charge card and does not offer credit or signing privileges to members. The Starwood Privilege membership card has no cash or redemption value.

The Starwood Privilege membership card is not transferable and may not be used for accommodation or for dining by someone other than the member.

Can I use both my Starwood Privilege and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) cards at the same time?
Answer :

Yes, you can use your Starwood Privilege card to receive the discount, and earn Starpoints on the remaining portion of the bill that is to be paid with the Starwood Preferred Guest program.

The Starwood Privilege Preferred Rate plan is also eligible to earn Starpoints. So when you use the Starwood Privilege accommodation benefits, Starpoints will be awarded for eligible charges.

Where is Starwood Privilege not valid?
Answer :

The Starwood Privilege membership card is not valid for room service, banquets and conferences, nor is it accepted in non-participating Hotels and outlets. Complimentary Bottle of Wine and Birthday/Anniversary Cake Certificates are not valid for take away or room service.

How long is the Starwood Privilege membership valid?
Answer :

The membership is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The individual expiry date of each membership is embossed on the membership card. As a member, you can use your card as often as you like in your membership year.

Can membership of Starwood Privilege be cancelled?
Answer :

Membership can be cancelled, subject to the statutory right of the defined cancellation period in your country of joining. The whole membership package (including both membership cards and all certificates) must be returned to the Program Sales Office prior to cancellation.

How do I use the Starwood Privilege accommodation certificates?

Answer :

Since your accommodation certificates are subject to advance reservation and room availability, please make your room reservation as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.

   
Bookings may be made by calling the hotel you wish to stay at directly or through the Starwood Customer Call Centers .Please state your intention to use your Starwood Privilege accommodation certificate(s). Simply select the country you are calling from to display the relevant hotels and their contact numbers. click here
   

Providing your reservation request was accepted, please present the required number of accommodation certificate(s) upon check-in, along with your membership card, to the relevant hotel.

What is the Starwood Privilege Preferred Rate?

Answer :

Answer :

Bookings may be made online or through our Starwood Customer Call Centers by saying you are a Starwood Privilege Member.

   

You are required to present your membership card and valid ID upon check-in.

What does 5% off the Lowest Available Rate of the Day mean?

Answer :

As a valued Starwood Privilege member, you are entitled to a further 5% off the Lowest Available Rate of the Day when you book through a Starwood Customer Call Centre, the Starwood Privilege website or the hotel directly (applicable only in participating hotels).

What is the meaning of ‘subject to space availability'?

Answer :

The Starwood Privilege accommodation certificates and certificate rate are subject to space availability and may not be valid for use through periods of high hotel occupancy. This means that whilst every conceivable effort will be made to honor your request for a room at the Starwood Privilege Certificate rate, there will be periods (i.e. peak seasons, holiday periods, special events etc.) when it may not be possible.

Note: The accommodation certificates and/or rates may not be utilized in conjunction with any discounted room rates, special promotional rates or package rates etc.

How do I use the Starwood Privilege dining card?
Answer :

To make a restaurant reservation, please contact the relevant hotel and ask for restaurant reservations or contact your Starwood Privilege Customer Service Office. When making a reservation, let us know you are a Starwood Privilege member and we will endeavor to ensure that you receive preferred seating. For the contact details of each restaurant. For details of your local Starwood Privilege Customer Service Office.

   

To take advantage of your dining benefits, simply present the dining card to your server after reviewing the bill/check. The applicable discount, based on the number of people you are dining at your table with, will be applied and the bill handed back to you for payment. What if there are two Starwood Privilege members dining at the same table?

Answer :

Only one card per table or party is accepted, so though members may dine together, only one of them can use their card to obtain a benefit on the total food bill.

Can I enjoy Starwood Privilege dining benefits if I only consume beverages?

Answer :

The benefit of the membership is that the Starwood Privilege member dines free. The discount does not apply to beverages in the restaurants. If the member is not eating, the privileges do not prevail, and no reduction will be given.

When and where are the Starwood Privilege dining benefits not valid?

Answer :

The dining benefits are not available on the following dates: Valentine's Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and other national holidays in the local jurisdiction. Please check when booking to ensure the dining benefit is available on your preferred dates.
